Pay is good $15/hr but no commission until you promote. Very high attrition so it’s hard to get to know your co-workers. Seems like everyone is looking for a different job. If you can handle getting yelled and cussed at sometimes, being attached to a headset all day, and can meet their metrics (unreasonable) you will do well here. Sales, sales, sales (even when inappropriate). They always have promotions running that you have to mention on every call (even when inappropriate) or you will fail it. My Supervisor is pretty good, he’s probably one of the better ones, but doesn’t get along with some of his reps. There is currently minimal support since they put TSS into queue every day, then if your Sup isn’t available you have to set up a callback. Some things can’t wait! We are not trusted enough to do things for the customers, ie) every credit has to be approved. Their systems are not good quality and with constant “upgrades” prepare for crashes and slowness which is super frustrating while you’re trying to get the customer helped and take 6-7 calls/hour. It is hard to help the customers who don’t know how to use a phone and those calls could last 45 minutes or longer. They want you to get them off the phone fast so it can be stressful.
They do have free insurance if you walk 30 miles per quarter...probably the most attainable goal here. Employee appreciation lunches, company meetings twice a year off site. Sometimes they give you cash bonuses. They are closed on a few holidays. I thought the schedules were pretty good and although your schedule is set (forever) there canmore... be opportunities to switch whenever a training class graduates. It’s good to have the same Supervisor but you can feel like just a number, even though they say you won’t be when you get hired. It’s not the worst call center I’ve worked at.less

I have been with Consumer Cellular for over 10 years & was OK with the service. When I tried to add my wife to my account as a 2nd line I was promised by several reps that the transfer would be quick & she would not be without cell phone service. Now her old phone has been deactivated & we are being told it will be at least 36 hours before the new Consumer Cellular phone will be activated. There is no nice way to say it - Consumer Cellular lied to us. It appears they tell you what they think you want to hear or what it will take to get you off the phone.
